Burglary victims awakened by movement of their bedroom door

Lawrenceburg Now

A couple who awoke to find their bedroom door moving overnight Monday later discovered that there had been a burglar inside the house.

The female victim, age 24, requested that Lawrenceburg Police officers be dispatched to her Briarwood Drive home Tuesday morning. She explained that she had been startled around 3:30 that morning when she noticed her bedroom door being closed. She said that she woke her husband and had him check the home, but that, at that time, he found nothing suspicious.

Later in the morning, the victim said that she discovered that her prescription medications were missing along with a check that had been made out to her for $128.

Officers report that the storm door was not closed completely, but that there was no sign of forced entry. Investigation into the crime is currently on-going through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
