Resident Cited For Growing Marijuana At Home On Old Florence Road
A local man was issued a citation last week after a police officer discovered a marijuana plant growing outside his home.
An officer with the Lawrenceburg Police Department was dispatched to 1640 Old Florence Road Thursday after receiving an anonymous tip about a marijuana plant growing there. The officer reported noticing the plant upon arrival.
When the resident was confronted, reports show that he first denied ownership of the plant. He told the officer that he had “noticed the marijuana plant growing” at the residence, but that it did not belong to him.
As the conversation continued reports show that the resident, twenty-one year old Joshua Dillon Hagar, took responsibility for the plant. The reporting officer also noted that he was in possession of a marijuana cigarette.
As a result of the investigation Hagar was issued a citation charging him with simple possession of marijuana. He will be required to answer the charge in Lawrence County General Sessions Court on August 7, 2014.
