Man walking his dogs finds discarded meth
Lawrenceburg Now
Law enforcement officials took possession of methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia that a man walking his dogs found in a ditch near his home last weekend.
Deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to speak with the fifty-year old complainant Sunday. He reported that he had been taking his dogs for a walk that morning when he noticed a black glasses case lying in the ditch across from his home. He said that he retrieved the case and opened it. When he saw that it contained a glass pipe, he quickly closed the case and left it lying in the ditch.
The man said that he had noticed blue lights flashing in that area the previous night and had looked out to find that a law enforcement officer had made a traffic stop. He said that He wasn’t very concerned by the event, so he went back to bed. He told deputies that, in the dark, he had been unable to tell which department the officer was with.
After making the discovery, the man spoke with a neighbor who is a Trooper with the Tennessee Highway Patrol. The trooper then requested that deputies be dispatched to investigate.
Inside of the case, deputies report finding a total of 3.9 grams of meth along with the glass pipe. The items were taken into evidence for further investigation.
