Assailant attacks sleeping man in his bed

Lawrenceburg Now

The victim of an early morning assault sought assistance from law enforcement officials last week, indicating that he had awakened while being attacked in his bed.

The victim, age sixty-three, reported to officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department that he had gone to bed the previous night at around 7:30. Sometime that morning, he said he awoke to find a woman on top of him, attacking him. He told officers that he woman had worn a stocking over her head to obscure her appearance.

The man said that his attacker was accompanied by two more intruders. He said once they had beaten him, the trio left. He said that he had not immediately called for help because “he was in the bedroom floor and couldn’t get up until around 8:00 a.m.”

The reporting officer noted that the bedroom was in a state of disarray, but found no visible injuries in the spot where the victim said he was experiencing pain.

The victim gave officers the names of three suspects, and at the present time the matter remains under investigation.
