Lawrence County Farmer's Market announces new locations and dates for 2016
The Lawrence County Farmers Market will be setting up at a new location this summer. Their new location will be on the Buffalo Road just south of the UT-TSU Extension Office/Lawrence County Health Department/Veterans Office and across the road from NHC Scott.
This location offers a scenic setting on the banks of Little Shoal Creek and in the shade of Magnolia Trees with plenty of room for parking. The market will be open on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays from 7am. until noon beginning on Tuesday, June 7th. Nothing signifies summer more than fresh vegetables on the dinner plate.
Look for cool season vegetables like lettuce, cabbage, onions, potatoes, and English Peas to be available as well as some of the early summer veggies like squash, and cucumbers.
A little later in the month will bring vine ripe tomatoes, sweet corn, green beans, peas and host of other vegetables and fruit. At times shopper’s may also find locally grown fresh meat, honey and jams and jellies.
The Lawrence County Farmer’s Market was established 1989 and since then Lawrence County has become one of the leading counties in the state in vegetable production.
Shopping at a local farmers market gives folks the opportunity to learn about where their food comes from and how it was produced as well as contribute to Lawrence County’s number 1 economic enterprise, Agriculture.
