Tuesday Crime Report
Theft
A Buffalo Road homeowner reported to deputies last week that someone had cut one window screen and removed a second while taking items from the property. Items were stolen from the yard including birdbaths, statues, a garden hose and a thermometer. Loss was estimated to be $220.
Theft
A Tennessee Forestry Division employ reported a loss of $119.35 when items were stolen from his work vehicle. A socket set and drive socket set were reportedly taken.
Theft
A 20” Stihl chainsaw and 20” Poland chainsaw were reported stolen from a Glenn Springs Road home Saturday. The victim reported he noticed the items missing the previous night. Also missing were a number of saw files. Total loss was estimated to be $830.
Theft
On Sunday, deputies responded to a Knob Creek Road home where the resident reported that his Yamaha Grizzly four wheeler had been stolen from his shed. He valued the ATV at $3,000.
Simple possession
Two men were charged with simple possession during a traffic stop conducted on Friday. Jason Michael Stojak, Jr., 21, was issued a citation for simple possession and violation of the light law. Anthony Curtis Blasingim, 22, was cited for simple possession and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both must appear in General Sessions court on June 1.
Theft
Loss prevention personnel at Walmart reported to police officers Friday that they had caught two men shoplifting. They reported seeing them remove two USB micro cables from the packages in the Electronics department and put them into their pants pockets. They said they then tried to exit without paying for them. The items were valued at $25.76. Tyler Ellis Hansen, 23, of 4 Dry Weakley Road, Ethridge was cited on charges of theft of property and vandalism, as was eighteen year old Jonathan Thomas Castleberry, of the same address.
Aggravated burglary
Last week officers responded to a Sixth Street home where the resident reported that someone had removed a double electric fan from a window to gain entry. Missing were some ladies’ pants and shirts and one black M&K purse. Total loss was $275.
Aggravated burglary
A resident of First Street filed a complaint with police officers after finding that someone had stolen a 3,000 psi Briggs & Stratton pressure washer from their screened-in porch overnight while they slept. It had a value of $500.
Theft
A window air conditioner unit valued at $315 was stolen from a Hart Avenue residence last week. The owner reported that a side window had been broken during the commission of the crime.
Vandalism
Some $400 worth of damage was reported to a Springer Road resident’s 2016 Honda Pilot on Friday. He said the damage was done while he was at either at North End Market or the Texaco station on North Locust Avenue. A large dent and paint damage were reported.
