Domestic dispute results in arrest
Lawrenceburg Now
Charges were issued against a Lawrenceburg man last week in the wake of a domestic altercation that occurred at his Evergreen Street home.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department answered the call around 9:30 p.m. Thursday. The thirty-two year old female victim reported that an argument between her and her boyfriend had escalated to violence.
The victim reported that during the incident, her boyfriend had thrown a lamp at her, breaking it. She said that he had shoved her against the bathroom counter and choked her and when she tried to escape, shoved her into the bathtub and choked her a second time.
The victim said that the altercation progressed. She said she ran for the door at one point and that he grabbed her, jerked her back into the residence, grabbed her by the ears, then began to bash her head against the floor.
The victim reported that she tried to escape while he was calling for his mother to pick him up, but that he again captured her and shoved her to the floor. She said they struggled and she bit him on the arm. He responded by striking her and spitting on her, she said.
The male subject had left the premises, but returned when asked to do so by officers. He reported to officers that he had been putting together a grill when the female became irate, throwing their steaks onto the ground. He said that it had been she who broke the lamp and that she had pushed him to the ground and held a box cutter to his throat. He said when he tried to get her off of him, she bit him on the arm and thumb.
Reports show that both had sustained injuries in the fight. The female had sustained red marks around her neck while the male had sustained scratches and bite marks.
As a result of the investigation officers determined that the man, identified as thirty-four year old Brandon Kyle Wilburn, had been the primary aggressor. He was arrested and transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center where he was incarcerated on charges that include aggravated domestic assault, vandalism, and interfering with a 911 call. He is scheduled to answer the charge in General Sessions Court on June 12, 2017.
