Local woman reports that a visitor stole her car, cash, and cell phone

Authorities initiated an investigation Saturday after a local woman reported that a man visiting her home had stolen her car, her cash, and her cell phone.

The victim, age thirty-four, reported to officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department that her boyfriend had brought his nephew to her home at around 10:30 p.m. along with his nephew’s friend. She said after a time the uncle and nephew left the residence, leaving the man with her.

The victim said that the man, a resident of Nashville, had been using her cell phone to message his mother, trying to find a way to get to Columbia. She said that she went into the bathroom and when she returned he had made off with her gold colored 2002 Buick Century, $400 in cash, and her phone. The items had an estimated combined value of $3,050.

A BOLO was issued to area law enforcement agencies. The matter currently remains under investigation.
