Residents report vandalism and burglaries

Lawrenceburg Now

On Friday, local residents requested that Lawrenceburg Police officers look into several crimes that occurred around the city.

Officers were dispatched to a shop building on Old Florence Road Friday morning. The victim reported that he had arrived to find that someone had broken into the shop by breaking out a window.

They then removed some screws on a rollup door. Several automobile parts were stolen, including two Holley dual line carburetors, two Holley 650 single line carburetors, tunnel ram intake with double barrel breather, breather with a butterfly, Edelbrock Ford carburetor, a vehicle craking battery, and a Ryobi tool set.

When the victim went to review security video to see who had committed the crime, he discovered that the security camera and monitor had been stolen, as well. He estimated his total damages and loss to be $5,060.

A second break-in was investigated, this one on Spout Springs Road. The resident told police officers that someone had gained entry to his home by prying open the front door with his crowbar, which he had left lying on the front porch.

He found a purple cup sitting on the front porch and told officers that it did not belong to him. A neighbor had reported seeing a white SUV in his driveway that day between 11:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Nothing appeared to be missing from inside the residence. Damages were around $20.

Also on Friday, officers were called to a home on Beckham Avenue. The resident reported damage to the paint on his 2002 Ford F150, caused by someone writing on it.

These investigations are presently on-going.
