Lawrenceburg Now
Vandalism
Police officers were called to Hobbs Purnell Oil Company on Second Street in Lawrenceburg on Wednesday where an employee reported that he had pulled in to get his truck and go home for the evening, when he noticed it was damaged. Reports show that there were several spots on both sides of the truck and on the hood where someone had made deep scratches in the pain, apparently using a concrete block. Damages were estimated to total $7,250.
Vandalism
On Monday officers responded to a Highway 43 North home where the resident reported someone had vandalized her block barn by writing derogatory terms on it. She estimated damages at $500.
Burglary
On Wednesday a South Circle property owner spoke with police officers, reported that someone had burglarized the residence. Someone had forced open the rear door. Once inside the culprit stole a Craftsman stackable tool box containing a large number of gunsmith tools. The victim estimated loss to be $2,675.
Theft
Deputies investigated a theft at a Sugar Creek Road, Leoma home. The victims reported that while they were away from their home for two hours that afternoon, someone had come onto their porch and stolen their grill and flag. Loss was said to be $65.
Theft
A resident of South Walnut Street in Iron City told deputies he had experienced a loss of $65 when his lawnmower battery was stolen.
Vandalism
Deputies opened an investigation last week after the owner of a 2010 Chevrolet Equinox reported that someone had broken the rear window, causing damages of around $269.
Theft
The theft of a trailer resulted in a $1,500 loss for a resident of Mt. Arat Road. He reported to deputies that someone had stolen the black, fourteen foot, dual axle trailer with lift gate, after breaking a lock.
Vandalism
A mailbox was damaged at a McCarter Road property last week, resulting in a $230 loss for the owner.
Recovered property
A port-a-potty stolen from the Lawrence County Solid Waste Facility last week was found on the roadside in West Point shortly afterwards. A passerby found that it had been abandoned on the roadside. It was subsequently returned to the sanitation department.
Theft
Around $2,400 worth of farm equipment was reportedly stolen from a Weakley Loop, Ethridge farm last week. The owner reported to deputies that someone had removed a draw bar and PTO cover/step from his International MX200 tractor and stolen it along with a blue post hole digger with auger that was lying nearby.
