Numerous firearms stolen in warehouse burglary
Lawrenceburg Now
A number of firearms were among the items stolen during the burglary of a warehouse in the Ethridge area last week.
The forty-one year old victim requested the dispatch of Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies to the South Church Street property. The owner reported that he had been notified of the burglary by a passerby who noticed that the door was open around 7:00 that morning.
The perpetrator had cut the lock hasp in order to gain entry to the building. Eight firearms were stolen along with ammunition, numerous collectible knives, scrap gold and silver, collectible silver coins, lighters, a tackle box containing $244 worth of $2 bills, digital scales, and a black and gold rosary.
When he went to check his security video, the victim found that the wires had been cut and that it had been stolen, as well. He estimated that the items had a combined value of $19,134.
The victim was able to name a suspect in the case, indicating that it appeared the crime had been committed by someone who knew where all of the items were located.
Investigation into the crime is currently on-going through the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
