Burned vehicle determined to be arson

Lawrenceburg Now

Authorities have determined that a Monday night fire involving a car was a case of arson.

Members of the Lawrenceburg Police and Fire Departments answered a call to Thomas Street just before 9:30 p.m. Once the fire was extinguished, they determined that it had been intentionally set.

Officers tracked down the owner, who resides on North Mahr Avenue, and he explained that he had parked the car on the backside of the Thomas Street property because he never used it. He said he did not know who set the fire, or why.

Reports show that there was around $1,200 worth of damage done to the green Ford car. The owner said he would be interested in prosecuting the person responsible.
