Traffic stop nets drug charges
Lawrenceburg Now
A traffic stop made by a Lawrenceburg Police officer late Friday yielded drug charges against a local man.
At around 11:00 p.m. the officer reports noticing that twenty-three year old Nathaniel Dwayne Lyle of 1013 Earnest Avenue was driving south along Locust Avenue, even though the officer knew that his license had previously been suspended.
The officer stopped Lyle, who then consented to search of his vehicle. The officer reports finding an orange medicine bottle between the driver seat and center console. It was found to contain a white straw along with Xanax, Adderal, and Clonazepam pills. He reportedly told officers that the contraband was for personal use, not for resale.
Lyle was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center where he was booked on charges that include driving on a suspended license, possession of Schedule 2 and Schedule 4 narcotics, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $8,000.
Lyle is required to answer the charges in General Sessions Court on June 2, 2016.
