Electronics, jewelry, cash stolen while residents slept
Lawrenceburg Now
Good Hope Road residents sought assistance from Lawrenceburg Police officers last week after awaking to find that their home had been burglarized while they slept.
The seventy-one year old female victim told police officers that she had gotten out of bed that morning to find that her front door and front screen door were standing open. She began to look around and discovered that a 60” Sony television was missing from the living room and a 43” Sony television was missing from a bedroom. She said that she and a male resident had gone to bed around 11:30 the previous night and that they had heard nothing suspicious during the night.
The victim told officers that another female and male reside at the home, but that they were out of town. One of their bedrooms had been rummaged through and items taken. Missing were jewelry items and approximately $300 in cash.
When officers asked the victim for her driver’s license, she told them that she would retrieve it from her car. She discovered that her car had been entered, as well. Her wallet, which contained $300 in cash, had been stolen. She told officers that she had left the vehicle unlocked.
Officers found that both doors had been opened without the use of force. After finding that one of her house keys was missing from her key ring, the victim told them that she suspected the crime had been committed by one of the residents.
Presently, the case remains under investigation.
