Resident confronts driver who damaged her yard
Lawrenceburg Now
A Leoma woman was able to photograph and confront a driver who allegedly damaged her yard in a trespassing incident last week.
The thirty-seven year old victim reported to Lawrence County Sheriff's deputies that she had been getting into her car at the rear of her Sugar Creek Road home when she saw a male driver stop in front of the house and back up. She told deputies that the man pulled onto her lawn "and spun out in two places," resulting in around $100 worth of damage to her grass.
The victim reported that she pulled alongside the man's white Toyota truck and confronted him, but that he drove away, heading toward Revilo Road. She said that she turned around and followed the driver, who eventually "slammed on the brakes and stopped in the roadway." At that point she exited her vehicle and approached the driver's side of the truck.
The victim said she had been able to take photos of the vehicle during the incident, and that the driver asked her "why she was taking a picture of his truck." She told deputies that she responded by asking, "Why he was tearing up her yard."
According to the victim, the driver began to drive away at that point, however she was able to snap a picture of him, as well. Although there was a male passenger, she was unable to give a deputies his description.
At the time reports were filed deputies were continuing their efforts to identify the offender.
