Loretto man faces multiple charges in "observation without consent" cases

Authorities with the Loretto Police Department report that a local man has been arrested in connection with multiple cases in which residents reported he was watching them at their homes without their knowledge.

Officials report that they had received complaints regarding the suspect, Loretto resident Steven Wade Gieske, age 56, from residents of at least eight different homes.

While investigating the complaints, members of the department spoke with victims who reported that Gieske had watched them at their residence. On three occasions Gieske allegedly knocked on the door and attempted to gain entry.

Department members arrested Gieske on Thursday and transported him to the Lawrence County Detention Center. He was jailed under one count of observation without consent, one count of trespassing, and six counts of harassment. Bond was set at $8,500.

Loretto authorities are asking the public to report any additional instances involving Gieske by calling the department at 931-853-6796.
