Employee of cleaning service takes client’s iPhone

Local police officers were asked to open an investigation recently regarding the theft of a resident’s iPhone by an employee of a cleaning service.

The victim filed the report with officers of the Lawrenceburg Police Department. He told officers that an iPhone 6 used for business purposes had been stolen out of a drawer in a bedroom of his home. The phone was valued at $600.

The victim said that he called the phone and made contact with a thirty-eight year old woman who was employed through a cleaning service he used. She told him that she had bought the phone from a woman with whom she worked. Both of them had worked in the victim’s home a few days prior.

The woman who had the phone brought it in to the police department and spoke with officers. She showed them images on the phone of her co-worker and her child, indicating that she was the person who sold her the phone. She said that she paid the woman $25.

The case currently remains under investigation.
