Wednesday Crime Report
Theft
Residents of Gillespie Lane in Five Points reported to sheriff’s deputies last week that she suspected a couple who had purchased a car from her, had stolen a radio from another car she owned. She told deputies that since they had left her property she had made numerous attempts to make contact with them, but that her efforts have been unsuccessful. She said the Pioneer stereo is valued at $500.
Vandalism
A Rosier Road, Summertown resident filed a complaint with deputies Friday, indicating that someone had vandalized her mailbox with what she believed to be a baseball bat. She told deputies that after the vehicle, described as a silver Trailblazer, passed by she heard female laughter. She said the vehicle was traveling south toward Lawrenceburg. Damages were assessed at $150.
Robbery
Deputies responded to Gieske Road in Loretto where the resident reported that an acquaintance had stolen all of his money. He told deputies that the man had been drinking and demanded that he hand over all of his money or else he would assault him. He told deputies that, being disabled, this placed him in fear, so he gave the man $60 in cash. The man then left his home. Deputies noted seeing a text message from the suspect apologizing for taking the victim’s money and promising to return it. A warrant for robbery was issued in the case.
Theft
Sheriff’s deputies were dispatched to a Buffalo Road home in the Ethridge area Sunday after the resident returned from church services to find that a trailer had been stolen from his driveway. He said the tandem axle, bumper hitch trailer with wooden bed belonged to a friend. He said it had a break box attached to the jack and had rebar welded to the rear of the trailer.
Larceny
Deputies are investigating the theft of numerous personal items from a Blooming Grove Road, Five Points home. The victim reported that she had been in jail since February and returned to find that her room had been rummaged through. Missing were an assortment of antique jewelry, a table with shelves, and antique dishes with a combined value of around $850.
