Traffic stop generates charges against driver and passenger

Lawrenceburg Now

A traffic stop conducted by a Lawrenceburg Police officer resulted in charges being placed against both the driver and passenger.

The stop was made at the Pressnell/Ray Street intersection. During the stop, the officer found that the license of the driver, Christopher Matthew Russell, 29, of 414 Third Street, had previously been revoked due to DUI charges.

During a search of the vehicle, the officer reports finding a black plastic box that contained five baggies of meth with a total weight of around two grams, along with around four grams of marijuana, digital drug scales, and a spoon bearing drug residue.

Russell was arrested on charges of driving on a revoked license, possession of meth for the purpose of resale, simple possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Passenger Kimberly Diane Keener, age 40, also of 414 Third Street, was arrested on charges of possession of meth for the purpose of resale, simple possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was additionally charged with criminal impersonation due to the fact that she initially gave the officer a false identification.

While the pair was being processed at the Lawrence County Detention Center, officers report finding that they were also in possession of oxycodone pills.
