Man is charged after witnesses report car break-ins

Lawrenceburg Now

A local man was taken into police custody last week after witnesses reported that he was breaking into vehicles in the parking lot of a North Locust Avenue business.

Noah Christopher Russ, age 55, of Lawrenceburg, was arrested on charges of burglary and vandalism on Tuesday.

Witnesses reported to officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department that they had seen Russ inside of a van. Although he had his arms inside of a vehicle when officers arrived on the scene, Russ told them that he had only been “looking” at the vehicles. The owner of the van reported that a cell phone charger had been damaged during the burglary.

Officers took Russ into custody and transported him to the Lawrence County Detention Center where he was incarcerated under a bond of $50,000.

Russ has been scheduled an initial appearance in General Sessions Court on June 2, 2016.
