Authorities working to identify suspect in weekend vandalism spree
Lawrenceburg Now
Residents of one Lawrenceburg neighborhood experienced more than $5,000 collectively as the result of a vandalism spree discovered Sunday.
Lawrenceburg Police officers initially answered a call to a Groh Street home at around 7:30 Sunday morning. There, a resident reported that someone had cut the sidewalls on two tires on both her 2010 Nissan and her 1998 Honda. Both had been parked along Kramer Avenue. She estimated her loss at $520.
Shortly afterwards officers responded to 305 Groh Street where they spoke with a Lawrenceburg man. He said that he was checking his building on Kramer Avenue when he noticed that both front tires on a 2001 Dodge truck parked in an adjacent parking lot, were flat. He checked and noticed cuts to the sidewalls. He told officers that his security cameras should have captured the vandalism on video.
Throughout the day, officers answered call after call where residents reported their tires had been cut. Altogether, they took reports from fifteen different victims involving nineteen separate vehicles. The vandalisms were all reported in the Perry Subdivision area including Groh, Kay and Perry Streets, Kramer and Violet Avenues, and Bluff Drive. All of the crimes were said to have taken place the previous night.
Authorities were able to obtain video surveillance footage that showed the commission of four of the vandalisms. At the time reports were filed, however, an arrest had not yet been made.
They are asking anyone who has information about these crimes to contact the police department at 931-762-2276, the department’s Criminal Investigation Division at 931-762-6837, or Lawrence Central Dispatch through their non-emergency number, 931-762-0450.
The department may also be contacted by private message via their Facebook page, Lawrenceburg Police Department, TN, or by email at: tips@lawrenceburgpolice.org.
