Intoxicated woman visits police department
Lawrenceburg Now
A local woman faces a public intoxication charge after police officers noticed that she was under the influence while at the police station.
Deana Brucesana Hughes, age 44, of Carrell Drive, Lawrenceburg was jailed on one count of public intoxication.
Lawrenceburg Police Department reports show that an officer at the station noticed Hughes stumbling about in the lobby and approached her. While speaking with her, the officer reports that her speech was slurred and she had difficulty multi-tasking.
Hughes told officers that she had taken Klonopin and Xanax a couple of hours prior. They determined that she posed a “danger to herself and the general public” and placed her under arrest.
Hughes was incarcerated at the Lawrence County Detention Center under a $1,000 bond. Her first General Sessions Court appearance is scheduled for May 5, 2017.
