Admission results in multiple meth charges against Lawrenceburg man
Lawrenceburg Now
Multiple warrants were obtained against a Lawrenceburg man in mid-April after he admitted to a police detective that several past purchases of pseudoephedrine were made with the intent of making methamphetamine.
According to a Lawrenceburg Police Department report, warrants were obtained against thirty-four year old Wade Parks Bryant, of 1706 Luther Avenue, on twelve separate meth charges.
The charges stemmed from a conversation the detective had with Bryant after he was arrested on charges of tampering with evidence, promotion of the manufacture of meth, initiation of the manufacture of meth, and two counts of simple possession of marijuana.
During the conversation, the detective reports that he, “Was talking to him about the meth lab he was charged with that was located a block from his home when he asked, ‘How can you charge someone for buying something that’s legal?”
The detective reports, “I then told him that he could not sit there and tell me that every time in the past four years, when he had bought pseudoephedrine it was not for making meth. It was then that Wade Parks Bryant stated, ‘I don’t want to incriminate myself, but I sure as hell can’t deny it either.’”
The detective conducted a review of Bryant’s pseudoephedrine purchases dating back to December of 2014. He noted twelve separate dates on which he had purchased the cold medication. He obtained twelve warrants indicating that he “did knowingly and intentionally purchase pseudoephedrine for the purpose of methamphetamine manufacture.”
Bryant was jailed on the twelve counts of promotion of the manufacture of meth and held under a bond of $60,000. He is scheduled to answer the charges in General Sessions Court on May 5, 2016.
