Shoplifters identified after security video showed them purchasing sports licenses

A pair of shoplifters was identified last week after security surveillance footage showed that they had purchased fishing and hunting licenses during the same shopping trip.

According to reports filed through the Lawrenceburg Police Department, officers were summoned to Walmart on Thursday. Loss Prevention officers explained that video surveillance showed the eighteen year old Lawrenceburg man and twenty-seven year old Linden man removing a handheld radio from the package and concealing it. They later left the store without paying for the item.

Loss prevention personnel said that they were able to positively identify the two men due to the fact that the video also showed that they had purchased fishing and hunting licenses in the Sporting Goods department. Obtaining the licenses requires an individual to provide identification that is documented for the state.

At the time the report was filed the men had not yet been charged in the case, however, Walmart personnel reported that they would be seeking prosecution.
