Driver says another restaurant patron pointed handgun at him from drive-thru
Lawrenceburg Now
A Leoma man filed a complaint with law enforcement officials Saturday morning, indicating that while at a local restaurant, a man in the drive-thru lane had pointed a handgun at him.
The sixty-five year old victim made his way to the Lawrenceburg Police Department at around 8:30 a.m. He said that the incident had occurred when he pulled into the parking lot at Hardees on North Locust Avenue.
The victim explained that he had been attempting to pull into a parking space, but that he did not have enough space in which to maneuver. He said that he asked a man in the drive-thru lane whether he would move up a bit. He said that the man, instead, yelled derogatory remarks at him and “pointed and shook” a handgun at him. He said that he told the man he was going to call 911, and that “he abruptly left.”
The victim told officers that he followed the man south on Locust Avenue, west on Weakley Creek Road, and north on Remke Avenue until he was able to get a license plate number.
At the present time the matter remains under investigation by detectives with the department’s Criminal Investigation Division.
