A British diver who previously rescued 12 soccer players and their coach from a Thailand cave went missing inside a Tennessee underwater Cave.

A 911 call came in early Wednesday morning at 1:17 a.m. that a diver had went missing inside Mill Pond Cave located East of Nashville Tennessee.

The man missing in the under water cave was, Josh Bratchley, who is a highly experienced British diver who is part of an elite international dive team that help rescue 12 soccer players and their coach from a Thailand cave in July.

A group of experienced divers from the U.K including Bratchley had traveled to the U.S. to explore the cave that's only reachable underwater.

Bratchley had went missing between 3:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m.Tuesday after he'd been reportedly laying guideline when others in the team noticed he hadn't returned, and that's when divers in his own team attempted unsuccessfully to rescue him for several hours.

Hamilton County Rescue Squad Lt. Brian Krebs stated,"This dive is roughly 400 feet. ... It is a tight passage, and that there is an "airbell" in the cave system that was large enough for a diver to climb into that held sufficient air to survive for a period of time greater than 24 hours."

After the 911 call was placed, expert divers were flown in from Arkansas and Florida. Once the rescue driver's arrived Bratchley had been inside the cave for 28 hours.

The expert divers entered the water around 6:00 p.m., and Bratchley was located in the "airbell" when he was rescued around 6:58 p.m.

Bratchley was evaluated by medical crews on the scene and found to be stable. His expertise in diving helped produce a great outcome in the rescue with him locating the airbell, and waiting patiently for rescuers.
