Resident’s pet squirrel is killed, skinned, and left on her steps
Lawrenceburg Now
Police officials are looking into allegations that some neighbors killed a pet squirrel, leaving its grisly remains on the steps of the complainant’s home.
The fifty-six year old victim filed the complaint Monday with officers of the Lawrenceburg Police Department. She told officers that she had asked some neighbors the week prior, “not to be shooting her squirrels with their pellet guns.” She explained that the squirrels living around her house were pets to her, and that she did not want them harmed.
At around 8:30 Monday evening, the victim told officers that when she had arrived home, she had found one of her squirrels dead. It had been skinned and left on her steps.
Officers noted that it appeared that the squirrel had been shot in the head with a pellet gun, resulting in its death.
The victim told officers that she did not know the names of the kids with whom she had previously spoken about the matter, but she was able to provide them with their address.
Investigation in the matter is on-going at the present time.
