Lawrenceburg Now
Theft
A green Yamaha Rhino, valued at $5,000, was reported stolen out of a storage warehouse off of North Locust Avenue Sunday. Reports indicate that the lock was cut from the unit.
Vandalism
On Sunday, officers responded to an Evergreen Street property where the owner reported a skid steer had been dropped off in his driveway, created deep ruts in the yard, hit a tree and became stuck. Damages were estimated at $450. The property owner said a neighbor was having work done and he had not given permission for his driveway to be used.
Theft
Police officers were called to Cosina Real, 1610 North Locust Avenue Saturday evening. Employees reported that a couple had left without paying for their meal. They told officers that this was not the first time the couple had skipped out without paying. Loss to the business was around $34.00.
Counterfeit money
Employees of Taz Mart on West Gaines Street in Lawrenceburg filed a complaint with police officers Saturday, indicating that a customer had attempted to pass a counterfeit $100 bill. The suspect had left prior to officers’ arrival. The bill was taken into evidence.
Theft
Police officers responded to the Dollar General Store located at 902 North Military Avenue in Lawrenceburg on Saturday. Employees reported that a female subject had entered the store with an empty purse, then spent time filling it with clothes and personal care items. The woman left the premises without paying for the merchandise. Reports show that she left the business in a 2012 Chevrolet Impala. A suspect has been identified in the case. Loss was estimated at $100.
Theft
On Thursday a North Mahr Avenue resident stopped by the police department in Lawrenceburg to report that her Glock 19, 9mm handgun had gone missing. It was valued at $639.
Theft
An employee of Murphy USA filed a complaint with officers Thursday after the driver of a white GMC Sierra truck pumped $54.66 worth of gasoline, then drove away without paying for it. The attendant was able to obtain a license plate number.
Vandalism
An employee of Rent Right on Buffalo Road summoned officers to the business on Wednesday, indicating that someone had broken into the owner’s 1997 Ford F-250 truck that had been parked at the business. Entry was made through a sliding rear window. Reports indicate that the person responsible had attempted to start the vehicle by damaging the ignition. Damages were assessed at $700
