Arrests made in recent Loretto armed robbery

Lawrenceburg Now

Loretto officials indicated Thursday that arrests have been made in connection with a recent armed robbery incident.

Information released through the Loretto Police Department shows that the arrests were the result of an investigation launched following the March 27, 2017 armed robbery at Sonic in Loretto.

They reported that, “At approximately 10:00 p.m., as the workers had closed the business for the day, two of the workers were surprised at their vehicle by two masked individuals. One of the suspects had a gun and forced one worker to the ground.

The same suspect then forced the other worker back into the business to retrieve cash that was on hand. The second suspect watched over the worker on the ground. After getting the money, both suspects fled the scene on foot toward the Dixon Branch Road area.”

Officials indicate that they are continuing their investigation at the present time and are not yet ready to release the names of those apprehended. They expect to release additional information as early as next week.
