Tomorrow is deadline to qualify for August election

The deadline is looming for those considering a run for several local and state offices to submit qualifying documents to the Lawrence County Election Commission.

The last day to qualify for the State Primary and Lawrence County General Election to be held in August is tomorrow, Thursday, April 7, 2016.

On the county level, candidates may vie for seats on the Lawrence County School Board for Districts 1, 4, 7, and 8 as well as an unexpired term for District 15 on the Lawrence County Board of Commissioners. Also on the ballot will be the 28th District seat on the State Senate along with seats in Districts 70 and 71 in the Tennessee House of Representatives.

Those wishing to submit qualifying documents must do so before noon on Thursday.
