No foul play suspected in weekend death of inmate

Authorities indicate that no foul play is suspected in the weekend death of an inmate at the Lawrence County Detention Center.

Officials with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department report that forty-four year old Jeremy Carter Shaw of Saint Joseph was found to be unresponsive Saturday morning. Staff members performed CPR in an attempt to revive him. He was transported to Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems Lawrenceburg where he was pronounced dead.

 Authorities indicate that Shaw had been incarcerated since November 29, 2017 on charges that include: three counts of violating the terms of his probation, two counts of failure to appear in court, one count of burglary, and one count of criminal trespassing.

As is protocol in all deaths that occur while in custody, Shaw’s death is currently being investigated through the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.
