Friday Crime Report
Hit and run
The owner of a 2009 Volkswagen reported to police officers that he had exited Save-A-Lot on North Locust Avenue after shopping for around an hour, to find that his car had sustained damage. The left front fender had sustained around $1,200 worth of damage. The other driver had fled from the scene.
Vehicle burglary
On Monday, a Jacobs Drive resident summoned police officers to her apartment building Monday to report that someone had burglarized her 2015 Kia Soul. She said that the crime was committed sometime Sunday night. The only thing that appeared to be missing was a two-year-old bottle of prescription medication that she had stored in her glove compartment. She told officers that she had found a pink vapor pen inside of her car that did not belong to her or anyone in her family. She said that it must have been dropped by the offender.
Theft
Police officers responded to Striker’s Steakhouse on Crews Street Tuesday where an employee reported that her wallet, containing $1,400 cash, had been stolen. She told officers that she and fellow employees had searched the premises and eventually found the wallet discarded in a bathroom trash can. She said everything was still inside, except for the cash.
