Vandals target Old Armory

Lawrenceburg Now

Vandals targeted the Old Armory building during the weekend, leaving behind a major mess for city employees to clean up.

Officials with Lawrenceburg Parks and Recreation requested that a police officer be dispatched to the 1000 Mahr Avenue location around 11:00 a.m. on Sunday. They reported that, during the previous night, vandals had entered the building and removed a fire extinguisher from the wall. The perpetrators emptied the contents of the fire extinguisher throughout the entire building then left, taking the extinguisher with them.

The reporting officer noted that the action had “created a substantial inconvenience of cleaning up around the building.” The extinguisher had a value of around $100.

Investigation in the case is currently continuing.
