Theft
A resident of Danley Road in Iron City reported to sheriff’s deputies last week that someone had entered her vehicle without her permission and stolen a box of .38 special semi-jacketed hollow point rounds along with $140 in cash. Total loss was reported as $158.97.
Fraud
Deputies spoke with a resident of Waterloo Road last week, who reported that someone had stolen an old checkbook. She said it had belonged to her and her husband, who had since passed away. She said she had received notification from Killen, Alabama about a bad check, alerting her to the fact that someone had passed one of the checks from the closed account.
Theft
Deputies were called to a home on Sunshine Lane on Friday where the residents reported a sizeable theft. They reported that they had visitors inside their home shortly before. When the visitors left, they said they discovered that around $4,700 worth of jewelry had gone missing.
Theft
On Sunday, deputies were called to a Rabbit Trail Road home where the resident reported that a bottle containing around 58 Xanax pills had been stolen from beneath her mattress. A possible suspect has been named in the case
Theft
A Lentz Road, Summertown resident filed a complaint with deputies Sunday, indicating that her three month old, black and tan, miniature Dachshund had been stolen out of the pen beside her house. She told deputies that an acquaintance had left a note on her door around a week prior, expressing his interest in purchasing the puppy. Neighbors reported that the man had stopped by their home to ask about the puppy, as well.
Burglary
Tidwell Hollow Road, Iron City residents filed a burglary complaint Sunday. They reported that they had been away from home for a period of around four hours, returning to find that someone had turned on all of the lights. Someone had let their dog out of the bathroom and flipped a laundry basket, scattering clothing. They said that it appeared that nothing was missing.
Recovered property
On Monday, police officers responded to Berger Street where a resident had located a bicycle that had been abandoned in his yard. It was described as a blue Mode 100 with orange tape on the seat, handgrips, and front and rear pegs. The bike was taken into evidence pending investigation.
Shoplifting
Bryan Robert Garland, 27, of 211 Napier Road was issued a citation on a shoplifting charge Monday after he was allegedly caught by Walmart personnel, attempting to steal several items. Reports show that he had concealed items in his pants, jacket, backpack and on his person. Some of the items had been removed from the original packaging. The items had a combined value of $255.17.
