Burglars ransack offices of two local businesses
Lawrenceburg Now
Burglars targeted two local businesses last week, ransacking offices and leaving considerable damage in their wake.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were summoned to Lawrence Farmers CoOp on Helton Drive where employees reported arriving for work to discover the burglary.
Store officials reported that someone had entered all of the offices, rummaging through each. A total of around $300 in cash was taken from various areas of the business. A Sun Drop machine and two exterior doors were damaged or destroyed during the burglary. Altogether, loss and damages were said to total $1,700.
While on the call, officers checked next door at Bryan Grain, 1010 Lillian Lane. There, they found that a similar crime had occurred. A door had been pried open and an office ransacked. The owner reported that nothing appeared to be missing, but that the door had sustained approximately $300 worth of damage.
Both crimes currently remain under investigation.
