Lawrenceburg Now

Theft

A resident of Granddaddy Road reported to sheriff’s deputies last week that he had left his residence, returning less than two hours later, to find that his mailbox was missing. He estimated his loss to be $30.

Burglary

Deputies investigate the burglary of an outbuilding at a Rabbit Trail Road home on Saturday. A person staying at the residence reported she had been going to the shed to turn on the heater for her dog when she noticed the door standing open. Cabinets had been rummaged through and a circular saw and floor jack stolen. Loss was approximately $140.

Vandalism

A Spout Springs Road resident reported $250 in damages after discovering that a rear door of her home had been kicked open.

Shoplifting

An employee of Kountry Kupboard on Highway 43 South reported to police officers last week that a woman had concealed a bottle of an alcoholic beverage in the back of her pants, then left without paying for it.

Vehicle Vandalism

A Geri Street resident incurred some $250 in damages when someone attempted to break into his 1997 Ford Windstar. He told police officers that the weather seal had been cut and the paint was damaged.

Aggravated burglary

A resident of East Taylor Street in Lawrenceburg reported to police officers that someone had broken into her home while she was away working. She said that a relative who had been house sitting had contacted her about the crime. Someone had damaged the rear door frame while gaining entry to the home. Stolen were a TV and a Wii U console with a combined value of $550.

Shoplifting

Officers investigated a shoplifting incident at Walmart on Friday. Employees reported that a man had removed two electronic door locks and four phone chargers from the store without paying for them. Loss was said to total $577.88.

Theft

Officers were asked to investigate Saturday when a First Avenue resident discovered that someone had stolen her child’s bicycle. She described it as a green Kent Chaos with pegs on both the front and back, and a broken seat adjuster. She said the bike, valued at $150, had been stolen from her back yard.
