U-Haul Driver Drives Away Without Paying For Gas

Lawrenceburg Now

The manager of a Lawrenceburg market reported to authorities late last week that the driver of a U-Haul truck had filled her gas tank, then drove away without paying for it.

Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department answered a call to Quik Mart #6, 710 East Gaines Street, shortly after noon Friday. The manager told officers that a white female had come into the store earlier, asking to have the gas pump turned on. She told the manager that she wished to pump the gasoline first, and would come back inside to pay for it.

The manager said that the pump was turned on as she requested. He said that she pumped a total of $63 worth of gas but instead of coming inside, she left without paying.

Reports show that officers checked with all of the local U-Haul rental locations, but learned that no trucks had been rented for that day.

Investigation into the incident is currently on-going.
