Charges result from Sunday crash involving motorcycle
Authorities are continuing to investigate a crash that occurred Sunday involving a motorcycle and SUV.
Officials with the Lawrenceburg Police Department report that the crash occurred around 7:20 p.m. at the North Locust Avenue/Weakley Creek Road intersection. Due to the fact that the crash involved serious injuries, the departments Critical Accident Response Team (CART) was called in to conduct an investigation.
Reports show that Breanna Hyche, age 26, of Lawrenceburg was traveling northbound on North Locust Avenue in a 1997 Chevrolet Blazer when she attempted to negotiate a turn onto Weakley Creek Road. She reportedly turned into the patch of a southbound 2015 Harley Davidson motorcycle driven by Lawrenceburg resident Joseph Stutts, age 38.
The move caused a head-on collision in which Stutts sustained serious injuries. He was subsequently transported via Air Evac to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville.
Authorities report that charges of failure to yield the right of way, failure to exhibit due care, and failure to provide proof of insurance have been issued against Hyche.
The crash currently remains under investigation through the department’s CART unit.
