Driver crashes into side of North Locust business
Lawrenceburg Now
A driver crashed into the side of a North Locust business on Friday, causing an undetermined amount of damage.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department responded to Rick’s Barbeque, 1507 North Locust Avenue, at around 11:40 a.m. They arrived to find that members of the Lawrenceburg Fire Department and Lawrence County Emergency Medical Service were already on-scene, rendering aid.
They indicated that, while checking the driver for injuries, they found that she had something in her left sleeve. An officer retrieved the item. Reports indicate that it was a small white paper bag containing ninety-seven Lortab pills.
While he was checking the center console for proof of insurance, the officer reports that he found a clear plastic bag that contained 14.6 grams of what was believed to be marijuana.
The driver, identified as thirty-four year old Lacey Kay Lyles of 952 North Brace Road, Summertown, was transported to Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems Lawrenceburg for attention to injuries she sustained when she crashed into the restaurant.
As a result of the investigation, Lyles was issued a citation, charging her with failure to show proof of insurance. Reports indicate that additional charges regarding drugs, property damage, and driving under the influence of an intoxicant charges will be sought through the Lawrence County Grand Jury.
At the time reports were filed, officers were unable to obtain an estimate regarding the cost of repairing the building.
