County Commission Will Meet Tuesday
Members of the Lawrence County Board of Commissioners are slated to meet in regular session Tuesday afternoon, with a moderate agenda awaiting their consideration.
When the meeting convenes, commissioners will consider resolutions that would honor: Loretto High School Band Director Darrell Boston for his various accomplishments, Debbie Ryder for her long-time service to the Lawrence County Public Library, Terry F. Campbell for his long-time service to the Lawrence County Government and Lawrence County Solid Waste Department, and Jody Lee Shadix for his long-time service to the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department.
A resolution to approve various budget amendments appears on the agenda along with the election of members to the Agricultural Extension Committee. Commissioners will consider a resolution to accept terms of Master Cooperative Agreements with National Joint Powers Alliance and U.S. Communities, and one to authorize an interlocal agreement between the county, City of Lawrenceburg, and Lawrenceburg Utility Systems regarding a contract with Retail Strategies, LLC.
Commissioners are asked to rename a portion of Greenwood Road, from the intersection of the New Highway 64 West to Waynesboro Highway as North Hood Cutoff Road, and portions of Eagle Factory Road to New Power House Road and Sandlin Way. They will consider abandoning the county’s interest in the easement known as Baler Drive.
A resolution on the agenda would establish various fees at the Lawrence County Detention Center. Another would create an Adventure Tourism District and develop a plan for submission to state agencies for approval.
The meeting is scheduled for 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 in the commission meeting room at the Lawrence County Courthouse. The public is welcome to attend.
