Thousands in Loss Reported Due to Burglary of Home Under Renovation

Lawrenceburg Now

A Lawrence County property owner reported thousands of dollars’ worth of loss after burglars targeted a home undergoing renovation last week.

The victim, age 59, reported to Lawrence County Sheriff’s deputies that she has been staying with a relative in Franklin while having her recently-purchased home on Fall River Road renovated. She said that she came to check on the property only to find that it had been burglarized.

The person responsible stole several items purchased for the renovation project including ceiling fans, a vanity, ceramic sink, mirror, and other items.

The victim reported that the culprit had also burned a pile of construction trash that had been piled against a retaining wall, causing significant damage to the wall. Deputies noted that it appeared that an accelerant had been used to ignite the fire.

Total loss was reported to be $3,258. Anyone with information about the crime should contact the sheriff’s department at 931-762-3626.
