Lawrence County will conduct 5 month study to determine if suitable location to host a test track.

Lawrenceburg is being carried out in partnership with Applus+ IDIADA, an automotive engineering and testing company headquartered in Spain. The project funded by a $250,000 grant from the State of Tennessee provided by the Department of Community Development.

If the project becomes a reality then Lawrence County could possibly gain hundreds of new jobs and millions of dollars in new investment.
Public officials reiterate that this is a preliminary study to see if Lawrence County would be suitable for a testing facility.

Applus+ IDIADA offers design, testing, engineering and homologation services to the automotive industry worldwide with an international team of more than 2,450 engineers and technical experts in 25 countries.

The company currently manages two proving grounds. Both facilities are aimed to be the most comprehensive independent proving ground in Europe and Asia, respectively
If the site is deemed viable, IDIADA or another similar company may intend to build a testing facility for the region.
