Resident Awakens To Find Truck Has Been Stolen

Law enforcement officials were asked to open an investigation after an Ethridge man reported that he had awakened one morning to find that his truck had been stolen.

The victim reported a loss of approximately $4,000 in the theft of his red, 2000 model Ford F150. He told deputies with the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Department that he and a twenty-five year old Summertown woman been working on the truck the previous evening.

The victim said that he had been consuming alcohol and “when he finally got the truck running, he passed out.” He said that when he awakened, both the female companion and his truck were nowhere to be found.

The victim told deputies that he had attempted to call the woman several times to ask her to return his truck, but that his calls went “straight to voicemail,” and he had been unable to get in touch with her. He said that the truck had no license plates and that the only thing he had was a bill of sale.

Investigation into the incident is on-going at the present time.
