Loretto High School Band Performs At 77th MTSBOA Concert
On Friday, March 11, 2016 the Loretto High School Band they performed at the 77th Annual Middle Tennessee School Band and Orchestra Association’s Concert and Sight Reading Performance Assessment at Middle Tennessee State University.
The judges for the event were David McKee – Virginia Tech University, Dr. John Culvahouse – Kennesaw State University, Tom Stites – Coorinator of Fine Arts in Owensboro, Kentucky and sight reading judge Richard Murphy – North Pontotoc High School in Ecru, Mississippi.
The band received all superior ratings from all judges in all captions.
By receiving superior ratings in all captions the band will receive the Award of Distinction from the American School Band Directors Association and earned an invitation to perform at next year’s Tennessee Music Education Association State Concert Festival which will be four years in a row the Loretto Band has qualified for the state festival.
Band Director Darrell Boston stated, “Words just can’t express how proud I am of the band and their hard work. I am so proud and honored to be their director. I am truly blessed with great kids and parents.”
