Lawrenceburg Now
Burglary
Police officers were asked to investigate Sunday when a Tipton Street resident reported that his house had been burglarized. He told officers that he had been away from home most of the previous day, retuning around midnight to find a west side door open. He said he assumed that he had left it unlocked and did not notice until the next day that some of his belongings were missing. Stolen were a Samsung laptop, Sony speakers, 300 pound weight set, several check books, a Craftsman tool set, arrowheads, an inscribed Zippo lighter, Timex watch, Carhart jacket, Verizon prepaid phone, and food and water from the refrigerator. Loss was approximately $900.
Theft
On Saturday, police officers spoke with a resident of East Taylor Street who reported several items missing out of her vehicle. She reported that someone had gained entry to the vehicle in her driveway, taking a jar that contained collectible coins along with a bank card, flashlights, vitamins, and various keys. Altogether, the victim estimated loss at $575.
Vehicle theft
An employee of a Lawrenceburg hair salon reported Friday that someone had stolen her 2008 BMW from outside of the business, sometime within a period of a few days. She valued the car at $28,000.
Recovered property
Deputies were called to a location on Ethridge Red Hill Road last week after a litter pickup crew discovered a Glock 43 handgun that had been tossed along the roadside. The handgun was taken into evidence pending further investigation.
Vandalism
A resident of Rogers Street spoke with deputies at around midnight. Friday, reporting that someone had vandalized both his truck and a house trailer. He reported that he had heard something hit the roof at around midnight. He went outside to check and found that someone had spray painted his truck as well as a house trailer situated behind his home. Altogether, damages were estimated to total $4,500.
Theft
Deputies investigated the burglary of a Hudson Road home where the resident reported someone had broken after he left to eat breakfast. He told deputies that he was alerted to the burglary when he found a magnifying glass lying on his bed. He said he looked around and found that a tall plastic bottle that contained at least $700 in change, was missing. He said when he returned the doors had been locked and he noticed no sign of a break-in.. At the time reports were filed he was working to obtain security video in the hopes of identifying the burglar.
Theft
Deputies spoke with the owner of a South Brace Road property who indicated that someone had stolen a wagon wheel and a trailer from his shop. Also missing was a red Murray wagon. Altogether, the victim estimated his loss to be $450.
