THP Announces 2014 Trooper And Dispatcher Awards

The Tennessee Department of Safety and Homeland Security announced the 2014 Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) Trooper and Dispatcher of the Year awards last week and recognized other noteworthy achievements.

Commissioner Bill Gibbons and THP Colonel Tracy Trott presented Michael Sullivan of the Jackson District with the statewide 2014 Trooper of the Year award, while Andrew Lawson of the Knoxville District was named the 2014 Dispatcher of the Year. The THP Fall Branch District was awarded the 2014 District of the Year award.

THP also recognized troopers and dispatchers in each of the agency’s individual districts across the state, and honored those in specialized units, specifically for investigations, interdiction and commercial vehicle enforcement (CVE).

The top-ten troopers were also recognized for DUI and seat belt and child restraint device enforcement, while five troopers were honored for their work in stopping hazardous moving violators. 

Those honored from the Lawrenceburg District include:

• Trooper Chad Staggs, Lawrenceburg District Trooper of the Year

• Dispatcher Cynthia Krause, Lawrenceburg District Dispatcher of the Year

• Trooper Chad Staggs #5 in DUI Enforcement with 110 arrests

• Trooper Ronny Wright #5 in Hazardous Moving Violations with 1,011 citations
