Lawrenceburg Man Arrested For Violating Order Of Protection, Trashing Ex’s Property
A Lawrenceburg man was jailed during the weekend after he allegedly violated an order of protection, driving through his ex’s yard, making threats and destroying her property.
Officers with the Lawrenceburg Police Department were summoned to a home on Buffalo Road Sunday morning to meet with the forty-three year old victim. She reported that her ex-husband had driven through her front yard earlier, making several laps around her house and spinning his tires on the lawn. She said that at one point, he exited his vehicle and began destroying items such as solar lights and birdhouses on her front porch.
The victim provided officers with text messages and voice mails she had received from her ex-husband. Officers noted that in the messages he threatened to “kill her or burn her house down” and drive through her home. Officers indicate that he continued sending text messages to her during the time they were taking the report.
Police officers made contact with the suspect, forty-nine year old William Dewayne Mason of 4700 Pulaski Highway near the Lawrenceburg Golf and Country Club. He told them that he did not know where his phone was. They report that they were able to locate it hidden in a tree stump on the golf course, and retrieve the threatening messages.
Mason was transported to the Lawrence County Detention Center where he was jailed under charges of violating an order of protection. He will be required to answer the charge in General Sessions Court on March 9, 2015.
