Voters Decline To Support Wheel Tax Referendum

Lawrenceburg Now

Voters made their way to the polls Tuesday to participate in the Presidential and County Primary election.

Appearing on the ballot was a referendum to increase the county’s wheel tax. Passage of the wheel tax increase would allow county leaders to rescind a recent property tax increase. That was voted down by voters Tuesday.

The 2015 property tax hike increased local property taxes from $2.7386 per $100 of assessed value, to $3.06.
