Monday Crime Report
Vandalism
A Glenn Springs Road couple filed a complaint with deputies after finding that their mailbox was missing and only half of the wooden post was left in the ground. They said it had been undamaged when they retrieved their mail at 2:00 p.m., but had sustained the damage before they looked out again at 3:00. The mailbox was recovered. The door had been removed and the post split in two. Damages totaled approximately $60.
Theft
Deputies spoke with a Rachel Lane, Summertown resident who reported that a cell phone cover she had purchased for her daughter, had been stolen from her mailbox. Postal officials reported that it had been delivered two days prior, but it was not in the box when the resident checked her mail.
Vandalism
Deputies investigated a vandalism at a Cardinal Court, Lawrenceburg home on Saturday. The victims told deputies that when they checked the mail they noticed that a small statute had been removed from their brick wall and was lying on the ground next to the mailbox, broken. They said that it was very heavy and had likely been pulled off of the pedestal by use of a vehicle, then placed next to the mailbox. Loss was estimated at $300.
