Resident scares away would-be burglar

Lawrenceburg Now

A Lawrenceburg resident scared away a person who was attempting to break into a Spring Avenue home Friday morning.

The victim reported to Lawrenceburg Police officers that a ratting sound was coming from the back door and the doorknob was being turned back and forth. The resident reports that after calling loudly, “I’m calling the police,” the person abandoned the task and fled.

Officers noted that there were fresh pry marks around the aluminum door trim and that the door latch had been broken. Altogether, they estimated damages at $175.
